Beneath the Surface holds a quiet presence within layers of oxidised colour, scratches and weathered marks — recognisable for a moment, then absorbed again into the surrounding texture.

Beneath the Surface is built around the tension between presence and material.

Deep teal and charcoal dominate the composition, interrupted by weathered bronze, burnt orange and areas of lighter oxidised colour.

Fine scratches, grids, abrasion and layered marks move continuously across the surface, creating the impression of something repeatedly covered, exposed and worn again.

At first, the eye follows the texture.

Then subtle alignments begin to form.
