COOKIE

COOKIE brings a slightly more playful subject into an otherwise restrained photographic language.

A single chocolate cookie fills much of the composition, photographed closely enough for its cracked surface, dark chocolate pieces and scattered salt to become graphic elements in their own right.

The muted treatment removes the bright commercial character normally associated with food photography. What remains is texture, contrast and an immediately recognisable form.

As a standalone artwork, COOKIE has enough simplicity and scale to carry a wall by itself. Within a gallery wall, its circular form and darker details create a useful visual counterpoint to softer images of bread, coffee and pantry objects.

Familiar, uncomplicated and deliberately close.
