First Form

First Form begins with almost nothing.

Chalk white, limestone and muted grey form a weathered surface of scratches, abrasion and worn mineral layers. From it, a single rounded form slowly emerges.

What first appears purely abstract gradually becomes familiar — a solitary egg. Reduced to colour, volume and texture, it becomes a quiet symbol of origin and possibility.

Canvas is the recommended material, extending the artwork’s tactile, distressed character and giving the pale composition subtle physical depth.
