PANTRY II

PANTRY II moves closer into the visual order of the pantry.

Glass jars occupy different depths within the composition, with grains and dry ingredients appearing through reflections and overlapping transparent surfaces. A central jar provides the visual anchor while the surrounding forms gradually disappear into soft focus.

The restrained monochrome palette allows texture, proportion and repetition to carry the photograph.

As part of a gallery wall, PANTRY II works as a quiet structural image between more immediately recognisable food subjects. It pairs particularly naturally with PANTRY I, creating continuity without requiring the two works to be displayed together.

At larger scale, the layers of glass and shallow depth of field give the photograph an understated abstract quality.
